Saving The Stranger| Short Story (Part One)

It was a warm spring day and outside the birds were singing. Jessica stood alone in the cold and dim underground station, after spending the Saturday morning shopping, in London, with her friends, and waited for the train to come. The world seemed to be at peace, but Jessica felt strange, as if something bad was about to happen. Something bad. She just couldn't think what it was.  Suddenly, just as the train was pulling in, Jessica saw a flicker of something black to the right side of her. She shrugged, and got onto the packed train.  Surprisingly, she found an empty seat beside a young man, of about twenty. He was wearing a navy blue cap and a black coat, which was strange as it was rather too warm to be wearing a coat. He was reading the Daily Mirror newspaper, and seemed to be very interested in it as he did not look up once. But as she looked at the young man, she was sure she had seen him before.
