Being Asked Out By Strangers, Unwanted Attention, & Catcalling

Image
A year ago today, I wrote a post about a couple of my experiences by guys when alone in town. If you want to see that post then here is the link: http://johannaisabelleroselife.blogspot.ch/2017/03/out-and-about-being-asked-out-by.html If you don't want to use the link, then you can search it on my blog. That post was titled:  Out And About: Being Asked Out By Strangers And Unwanted Attention I was wanting to make another post with the same topic, and I planned on doing it today, then I scrolled back on my blog to see when I posted the last one and discovered I posted it a year ago exactly, and thought it was a better time then any to write this.  I was talking to a couple of my online friends and we ended up talking about how careful we have to be as young girls and young women, when alone in the streets, or around people we don't know. The topic actually started on International Women's Day and I realised a lot of girls have experienced similar situations with yo...

Guest post: A Wrinkle in Time Movie Review

Image
This post is a movie review, but its a guest post by an amazing friend of mine. After reading her movie review, and watching the trailer, I have to admit I really want to watch it too. Review Written by Anna-Maria. Intro The other day I went to the cinema with my sister on the Eighth of March. I know! What is even better way to celebrate International women’s Day? We saw A Wrinkle in Time. It is American Disney Film. I’m not going to get away very much because I absolutely understand that a lot of people haven’t seen that yet.  I’d like to share my thoughts on this film and give you a brief review. My general impression The second we left the cinema I felt so inspired. My body felt like it was growing wings and I was ready to take off any seconds and fly high like a bird! Maybe I’m saying totally stupid things but it felt like something surreal. I’d rate this film this way… The story 10/10, The cast 10/10 And music 9/10 Would I recommend this film...

Storytimes: Bad Teachers I Have Had

Image
People seem to like my storytime posts, so here is another storytime style post about some of the bad teachers I have had up until now.  Stories from a school I went to in 2011: I had a sports teacher in one of the schools I went to, in 2011, that I was sure didn't like me. I was terrible at sports and was a very slow runner yet he never showed me how to do something right and would make me run around the playing field more than other people, and make everyone watch me and would make comments about what I was doing to the other students in my sports class. If I could not do something or did't feel well he would still make me do it, but there were other people who got out of sport if they were ill and there was another girl who was really bad at sports too but always managed to get permission to not participate. Whenever I could I would take extra long in the changing room to get ready, so all the other girls would be done before me, then sneak off to the school library fo...

The Greatest Showman| My Ratings & Thoughts

Image
I saw The Greatest Showman in the cinema, with my brothers and parents, on the Third of February. I was going to write this post much earlier but I never got round to it, so here it is now. This post is going to be a little different from my other reviews, and I also don't really want to give anything away for those who have not watched it yet. But if you haven't seen it, you really should as it was really really good. After we watched it, and we were in the car on the way home, my dad asked us all what we would rate the movie out of ten and my answer was eleven and I my brothers got annoyed as eleven out of ten is not possible. Anyway, I am not changing that. It is still, an eleven out of ten. I loved the colours, and the cast, and the music and the acting. In fact, I wanted to re-watch it before the movie was even finished. I love romance, musicals and historic movies and this covered each of these, some more than others. It was a musical, for sure, and there w...

The Book Tag

Image
I love reading and a lot of my readers also love to read too, and  I also wanted to do another tag, as I enjoy doing this sort of thing. So, I decided to do this Book Tag.  Feel free to answer the questions yourself in the comment section, or leave your book suggestions because I am always on the look out for new books to read.  1) Do you have a certain place at home for reading? I love reading in bed. It's just the best place to cosy up with a good book.  2) Bookmark or a random piece of paper? Both, but I prefer using a bookmark.  3) Can you stop reading at any time you want or do you have to stop at a certain page, chapter or part? I find it very hard to stop before ending a chapter, especially if its a good book.  4) Do you eat or drink while reading? Not often, but I am not against it.  5) Can you read while listening to music or watching TV? I have to read in silence.  6) One book at a time ...

Late Night Talk With My Cousins

Image
Late night talks are the best, in my opinion. They  always seem to hold more weight and teach you more about a person than you knew before. They seem to reach a deeper more truthful level of conversation that never seems to happen during the day. I am sure I am not the only one that thinks this way.  I personally have only had about four or five late night talks with people in my twenty years, but my favourite was over the Christmas Holidays, when my cousins, Elise and her brother, came to visit us. I guess it was my favourite because I was not particular that close to the people of previous discussions at the early hours of the morning, but opening up to people we trust and have known forever is just easier.  We were up until about four or five in the morning, I think, but I really can't remember. All that I remember is it was their last night, and we got to bed in the early hours of the morning and we had to have an early start the next morning to get them to the ...
