A Family Christmas- Short Story

Christmas was always a big thing for the Johnson's. They always went all out with decorations and the big Christmas dinner.  The previous year had not gone to plan with Mary Johnson's brother, Andrew, staggering into their house with a bottle in hand and drunk. He had tripped and the Christmas tree had toppled over, breaking all the decorations. Mary's mother had then burnt the turkey and her youngest daughter, Amber, had dropped the homemade Christmas cake on the floor. The whole day had ended with Cousin Rose in hospital with a terrible allergic reaction. This year, had to be better. They weren't going to ruin this Christmas too. In fact, this had to be the best Christmas ever.  Mary had been in the kitchen all week leading up to Christmas day cooking mince pies, Christmas cake, gingerbread men and pies. Nobody was allowed in the kitchen so that nothing could be messed with.  Mary's husband, James, was in charge of decorating the front of the house and Aunt ...

Aquaman (2018)|| My Ratings & Thoughts

Image
So, here I am again with another movie review post.  Went to see Aquaman yesterday evening with my two brothers and my dad. And in short I loved it. I loved the cast. Also, I’m extreamly intrested to know how films like this were made and what went in to create it. The imagery and monsters and everything. I find the world of film very fascinating.  So, yeah this was another action movie and also, like most, also included a little romance.  A couple years ago I would never have watched movies like this. I remember turning down invites to see some movies and now I’m actually excited to go see them and keep making notes of new ones I hear about, like this one. I wanted to watch this since seeing Justice League. I guess the interest in these movies has grown because of my brothers and my dad but also because of the slight influence from one of my best friends-you know who you are! So, after seeing Justice League I wrote a review and I mentioned t...

Christmas Questions|| Countdown To Christmas

πŸŽπŸŽ…πŸͺπŸŽ„πŸ€ΆπŸŒŸ 1)  What is your favourite thing about Christmas? I love seeing family. Seeing the decorations people have put up outside their houses. And the food. But especially seeing family-my extended family. 2) What is your least favourite thing about Christmas? I don't like how people focus on the gifts.  Gifts are nice, and I love the whole giving and receiving of gifts but I don't think it should be made into such a big deal.  And I don't like how people try compete on giving the best gifts.  3) Is it your favourite holiday? I don't really have a favourite holiday. If it is an opportunity to see family then its a great time, no matter the holiday. 4) Do you get together with friends and family? Yes, we go back to England to see our extended family most years. Otherwise some of our family come over and visit us in Switzerland.  5) Do you go to a Christmas parade, or visit a Christmas market? Yes for Christmas ma...

Last Minute DIY Christmas Gift Ideas|| Countdown To Christmas

Image
It's almost Christmas and people have been, and still are, rushing around trying to find gifts for all their friends and family. If you still haven't finished your Christmas shopping and need ideas or don't have much money here are some easy ideas you could do. Plus, they are more creative then just buying something off a shop shelf.  If you don't celebrate Christmas these ideas are also great for birthdays, or any other occasion for giving someone a gift.  This list are ideas from things I have done and a couple I have seen online too.   Gift #1: Movie Night In A Box  (I used a gift bag for this when I gave it to my friend, a couple years ago, but I think it would be better in a shoebox...) I got a gift bag and inside I put a DVD that I thought my friend would like. I also included a bag of microwave popcorn, some chocolate and sweets, and a card. It was very simple and easy and my friend loved it. You could put anything else inside that you think w...

Robin Hood (2018)|| My Ratings & Thoughts

Image
Everyone knows the story of Robin Hood. It's a great story, a man who cares about his fellow citizens and decides to stand up for everyone and steals from the rich to give to the poor while trying to overturn those ruining the lives of the common people. It's a very popular story and has also been made into TV series and movies. There are a lot of Robin Hood movies out there, which I have not seen most of, and I am sure there are many to come. I don't really know why its so popular, resulting in all these movies but I wouldn't pass up going to the cinema, or sitting back at home, and enjoying a movie.  Robin Hood- movie (2018) My youngest brother was out, and my other siblings were away and my mum isn't big on films and wanted to relax at home so my dad took me along with him to see the new Robin Hood movie in the cinema, this evening.  Yesterday evening my mum read aloud some reviews and comments about this movie and there were a lot of negative one...
