Get To Know Me...💁🏻
I have not written in ages and I have had posts planned but never got round to writing them, so I wanted to have a re-start and try post more regularly from now and I decided the best way to do this would be to begin by re-introducing myself here.
So, let's get to know me a bit....
As you can see, by my blog name, my name is Johanna and my middle name is Isabelle. Rose isn't part of my name, however I love the name Rose and Roses are also my favourite flowers and I decided to include it in my blog name. It's also been in a number of other online usernames I've had over the years.
I am currently 21 years old, even though I know I look much younger. And my birthday is in September. I'm a Virgo, even though I don't really believe in that stuff.
I started this blog back in 2016, but previously to this blog I've had a couple of other blogs but I ended up giving up and deleting them but when I came to starting this one I decided I was going to stick to it, even though I haven't really kept it up I love writing and I love posting on here. I post true stories from my life, short stories, movie reviews and anything else that I find interesting. I also have a second blog, which I post on less often then I do on this one, and that other blog is called "The Island Baker" and I post anything food related on there. Talking about food, I also have a food account on Instagram with the same name as my food blog, "The Island Baker" and there I post pictures of food I've made at home, snack reviews, and posts of food I've had in restaurants near where I live and from my traveling adventures.
I love baking and cooking. My favourite thing to bake are actually oat and chocolate chip cookies, because they are so easy to make. I actually have a recipe to these cookies on my food blog. I also love making Vanilla Sponge Cake and Chocolate Brownies.
As well as baking my hobbies include writing, reading, photography, and shopping. I also love drawing, but I must say that I'm terrible at it. My favourite place to take photos are around town, down by the lake, and in the woods. When it comes to writing, I am always writing down ideas for stories and my book. I have so many notes on my phone with story ideas, and things I have experienced that could be interesting to maybe write about.
I am currently trying to write a book. It is much harder to write than I expected but I really enjoy the process, even though I do have long periods of writers block. My book is a historic fiction. My favourite genres of books to read are historical and also romance.
I love traveling. My last blog post was actually about places I'd love to go to. I just love experiencing and visiting new places and cultures. One of my favourite holidays was when I went to Prince Edward Island, Canada, with my Dad. I'm a huge fan of Anne Of Green Gables, which is based in Prince Edward Island. In my last blog post, I also mentioned I would love to go to Paris, since my first time wasn't a good experience. Well, last weekend I went to Paris with my brother and parents. It was just from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, and it went by way to quickly and I desperately need to go back and spend a longer time there, but the time I did have was amazing. I love Paris. It's full of so much history and life. If you haven't been, you really need to go.
When I am not writing, taking photos, baking or shopping you are very likely to find me in my bedroom watching something on my computer. My brother has Netflix and very nicely he lets me have access to it. My all time favourite show to watch is FRIENDS. I just think its a really relatable show, along with being really funny. My favourite character changes all the time but currently its Joey, followed by Phoebe. My second favourite show, at the moment, is a show called Jane The Virgin. It's a great show, in my opinion, and from the first episode I was hooked. Sadly, they don't have the fourth season on the swiss Netflix. I also love watching movies. I have a lot of favourites but I love romance, and historical based movies and recently I have started to watch action movies too.
I work part time, here in Switzerland, and I am in a bit of a love-hate relationship with my work place. It's nice getting out the house and I love being around people, in small doses, but as its all in French and I still struggle in French it can be a bit of a struggle. Especially since people leave me alone and often ignore me because they don't know how to figure me out.
If you've never met me before, then you might not know I am rather shy and I would say I'm an introvert too. So, if I ever approach you and talk to you then it really is a big deal. I am terrible at starting conversations with people. However, I love people and love being there to help and encourage others.
Two of the most important things to me are my family and friends. I have the best family, included my extended family. And its a shame I live so far away from my aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. I also don't really have friends here where I live, but I have some of the best friends that I have met on Instagram. I know internet friends are not seen as proper friends by a lot of people, but they still are amazing and are as real friends as anyone else, it's just a shame I can't meet up with them and go out with them like I would be able to if I had friends nearby.
