List Of My Recently Viewed Movies

A list, and my opinions, on some of the films that I watched this summer that came out this year or last year. If you have watched any of the movies I have mentioned or have any movies you think I would like, please leave them in the comments.

1- La La Land

Before I watched this movie I had watched the trailer about twenty times and had really wanted to watch it but when I finally came to watching it was not as amazing as I had thought it would be, but I still loved it. I love romance stories and La La Land defiantly was one. I think I enjoyed this movie much more than my brothers did, but then again I love romantic movies more than I think they do.

I didn't really like the ending, and I don't want to give to much away to anyone who has not watched it, but I didn't like how they didn't end up together in the end.

I also loved Ryan Gosling in this movie. I have not seen any other movies with Ryan Gosling but I still really like him as an actor and I think he's great. Emma Stone, on the other hand, I don't think she is the best actress. She was alright in this film but I don't really think she is that good. But I still really enjoyed the movie.

I would give this movie a 3.5 or 4 out of 5. Not amazing but an enjoyable film to watch.

2- Lion

I really enjoyed this movie and I must say it gets a bit sad at times. It is based on a true story, and if you know me you will know that I am not keen on movies based on true stories but this one was really good.

It's about a boy, from India, who was separated from his family and ended up in an orphanage across the country and then adopted by an Australian couple. The story follows his story and how he used Google Maps to find his real family again.

It is a really good movie, and I found myself reading up a little about the man behind the film and I found it really interesting. It also made me think how lucky I am, because this film showed a lot about child slavery in this movie and how children would be taken from the streets and sold. In fact, it kind of sparked something in me that wanted to start helping young children and teenagers who have been in similar situations as many of the children in this movie.

This movie I would defiantly give a 5 out of 5. It was really good, even though some parts were very sad. If you have not watched it, you defiantly should.

3- Sully

This movie is also based on an amazing true story. It is about a pilot called Sully and how he saved everyone on the plane he was flying when the engines stopped working. I really loved this film, and like Lion, it is one of the films that I watched this summer that I really want to watch again.

I am not a fan of flying, and being so high up in the air, and this film defiantly grew that fear a little bit but I still thought it was an amazing story and again, with this film I researched a little more after watching it to find out more. I was going to write a whole post on this movie but I never got round to it.

Sully, in this film, is played by Tom Hanks and I think he is an amazing actor. I have not really watched many of his films but there are a couple that I would like to watch.

I will rate this movie a solid 5 out of 5. If you have not watched it already you really should.

4- Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

I have talked about this film already on this blog and talked about where I watched it, and on that post I also wrote a movie review on it, so feel free to go back and read that if you are interested in what I had to say. But because of that post, I am not going to go into much detail about the movie or say what it was about. I am sure a lot of you have already seen it anyway.

This was, and still is, the only Pirates of The Caribbean movie that I have ever watched. My siblings have watched some of the others, if not all the others, but I seemed to have missed out on that. I have wanted to watch the movies for a while, but since I have seen this one, I want to watch the others even more. I must admit I did find the film a little creepy and usually I don't like creepy movies, but surprisingly I really enjoyed this one. I am sure the people I watched it with and the overall experiences of the night added to my enjoyment of the movie.

Johnny Depp, who plays Jack Sparrow in the Pirate of the Caribbean movies, is not really a favourite actor of mine but I really like how he portrays Jack in the movie.

I would rate this movie a 4 out of 5.

5- Moana

I waited for what felt like ages for this movie to come out, then I waited even longer to get the chance to watch it and when I finally got to watch it, with my brothers, I was definitely not disappointed. I loved this movie and I loved the songs from the film. I seriously sing, "You're welcome" and "Shiny" all the time. If you love cartoons, and have not seen this, I am sure you will enjoy it. My brothers and I really enjoyed it, and found it very entertaining and funny.

This movie stars the amazing Dwayne Johnson, who plays Maui in the movie, and even though I have not really seen any of his films, I really like him as an actor. I think he is great.  Moana is played by the adorable and amazing  Auli'i Cravalho, who made her acting debut by playing Moana.

I will rate this movie a 5 out of 5.

6- Boss Baby

I wanted to watch Boss Baby for ages before I actually did. It was a really funny and adorable movie. I watched it with my youngest brother, and I don't know about him but I want to watch it again. Babies are adorable as it is, and having babies as cartoon characters make them so much cuter.

I am sure a lot of you already know about this film or have seen it but put simply this movie is about a 7 year old boy called Tim who's parents adopt a baby boy who turns out to be a secret spy on a mission.  At first Tim really hates having a new addition to the family but later the two form a bond and help each other with the mission. It is a lovely film and I loved it.

I rate this movie a 5 out of 5. I just have to. I really really liked it.

So there are the list of movies. I am sure I must have missed one out, but I think those are the only "new" films that I have watched over my Summer Holidays. I, of course, watched a load of other movies during my summer because I love watching movies. If you liked this post let me know, and also if you like to know my opinion on movies, books, and other such things let me know and I might do some more posts like this in the future.

A friend of mine asked me what movie, that came out this year, that you have watched is your favourite, and I decided to answer it here in this post as this was all about movies.
So....
This is actually a really hard question because I liked so many, as you can tell from this post. Hmm... out of those listed I think my favourite was Sully, Lion or Moana but I don't know. But other than that, two films that came out recently-ish that I really enjoyed were Zootopia and The Secret Life Of Pets. I also recently watched King Fu Panda 3, which I have a feeling I watched during the Summer, come to think of it, but I can't be bothered to add it into my list.
