Robin Hood (2018)|| My Ratings & Thoughts
Everyone knows the story of Robin Hood. It's a great story, a man who cares about his fellow citizens and decides to stand up for everyone and steals from the rich to give to the poor while trying to overturn those ruining the lives of the common people. It's a very popular story and has also been made into TV series and movies. There are a lot of Robin Hood movies out there, which I have not seen most of, and I am sure there are many to come. I don't really know why its so popular, resulting in all these movies but I wouldn't pass up going to the cinema, or sitting back at home, and enjoying a movie.
My youngest brother was out, and my other siblings were away and my mum isn't big on films and wanted to relax at home so my dad took me along with him to see the new Robin Hood movie in the cinema, this evening.
Yesterday evening my mum read aloud some reviews and comments about this movie and there were a lot of negative ones saying that they would not recommend this movie and it was made a bit too modern and not like other versions but don't listen to reviews and decided not to see a movie based on what other people think, because we went to see this and I don't think it was bad at all even though it was very different from what I expected but it had all the characters I know from the original story, even if they weren't represented in the same way.
I don't understand how this movie has such low ratings and so many negative comments because it wasn't a bad movie at all, even if it is done differently from other versions. After all, all versions are a little different anyway. I see how big fans of Robin Hood may think it was way too different, and I can't really say that much and compare to other versions as I am yet to see a lot of them so maybe when I see more I will understand some of these views on this movie more but standing alone this movie was very well done and very gripping as well as entertaining.
I do see how the modernizing of it, especially in the style of dress, could not help with the story but I think this movie should be given a chance. Modernizing it can make the story more relatable or understandable to newer audiences to the world of Robin Hood.
The two things I didn't like about this movie was how Marian and Robin Hood didn't have that much romance during the movie and I didn't really like the ending very much, but I don't really want to give much away because I defiantly recommend this film, if you love action and/ or like Robin Hood.
I went into the movie knowing about the negative ratings and comments, but as soon as the lights dimmed and the movie started I was gripped and was soon lost in the adventures and missions of Robin and his friends, and eagerly waiting to see how everything would turn out.
I loved it.
It was a really good movie, and is on the list of movies I would see again for sure.
I rate this movie a 9/10.
The ending, however, I am still a little annoyed with....

I loved the cast. I think they were great. I especially loved the Robin Hood (Taron Egerton) and Marian (Eve Hewson). I loved Friar Tuck (Tim Minchin) too. They were all great and I think they fit this version of the roles really well.
This movie had a lot of action and also a little romance, which is obvious as we all know about the Robin and Marian romance from this story.
